21 October, 2009 URGENT NEWS UPDATE Changes at the top. AWAL has grown during 2009, in more ways than one. More members with more aircraft, more responsibilities under the self administration of Limited Category, and a much, much greater workload. Until recently this workload was borne by the committee of voluntary Directors and a couple of paid consultants. With this team, we achieved the substantial goal of self admin, thus preserving the right to fly aircraft that would otherwise be grounded. We have many to thank...

4 May, 2009 AWAL ACHIEVES MAJOR MILESTONE CASA’s CEO John McCormick has signed the instrument that empowers AWAL to administer Limited Category according to our approved manuals. AWAL can now issue all approvals and paperwork required to get a “new” limited category aircraft flying, or to keep an existing one flying. This has been the BIGGEST hurdle AWAL has faced in the 2 ½ years of hard work towards self administration, and has taken 8 months of constant work by AWAL and CASA teams. It was very pleasing...
