After the expiration of Stephen Dines’ contract as our Director of Self Administration, Peter Pring-Shambler stood in temporarily in that position. Peter is of course ideally qualified, but his commitments as Chief Engineer at the Temora flying museum meant that he was stretched much too thin.

Charlie Camilleri of Jet Check at Bathurst Airport has been appointed to take up this critical role. Already Charlie is deep into the procedures that must be completed to finalize AWAL’s self admin of limited category aircraft.

Charlie is an ex RAAF engineer, having cut his teeth on the Mirage and F-111. After leaving the RAAF he owned and operated Bathurst Aircraft Maintenance and Bathurst Vintage Joyflights for many years. He sold the GA maintenance business in 2005, before starting up as Jet Check. Charlie specializes in the L-29 and L-39, and is keenly interested in all warbirds. He is also a commercial pilot, and operates charter flights from Bathurst in a Seneca.
