| 4 June, 2008 - A FLYING FAMILY
Chiristina has sent in a picture of the family Yak 52 which she and her husband both fly. Thanks Christina, the aeroplanes look great; any chance of a picture of the Stearman for the site? Here is Chistina's email : Hello Dave, Our Aircraft VVS is a Yak 52 Russian Military training aircraft which we have restored and owned for 14months approx. Both my husband and I have PPL’s and both fly it. I have been taking it to a few Airshows and it would appear that there aren’t too many female Yak52 pilots. In our stable we also have a Boeing Stearman and a Piper Saratoga. John bought a Formula One Reno Air Racer Cassutt at the beginning of the year called ‘Outrageous’. It will remain in the states where he will attend the Reno Race School and hopefully go on to Race at Reno in the Formula One Gold Class. Because he hasn’t done a lot of formation type flying, we were teamed up with Cameron Rolph-Smith in his Yak 52 YRO and Nigel Arnot in our VVS back seat to instruct. The Race school at Reno is in June with the Reno Air Races in September. As far as I know he is the only Australian competing (check that). I have attached another photo of ‘Outrageous” so you can use both if you like. Up to you, just thought I’d let someone know as a matter of interest.
Hope this has been of help Christina
