| 14 February, 2008 - L39 VH-LCJ
Jeff Muller has sent in some photos of newly restored L39 VH-LCJ. What a beautiful machine Jeff, I'm green with envy. We are getting quite a few pictures coming in of member's aeroplanes; please keep them coming people ! Here is Jeff's Email.
Hi Dave, Attached are a couple of photos of VH-LCJ. She is a 1982 model L-39C, ex Ukraine. Total time just under 2000 hours, with 300 on the engine. I bought the aeroplane through Stu Davidson in South Africa, after a ride in his L-39C ZU-DEW. Subsequently we formed a syndicate with Charlie Camilleri, Leon Christianakis, and myself. Charlie overhauled the aeroplane at his Bathurst hangar, so first flight was July 2007. A combination of events made it difficult for me to get time in the aeroplane with Trevor Merton, but on Tuesday I got my checkout at last, after 4 hrs dual. Charlie had checked out with Trevor earlier, and Leon has done a comprehensive course in te USA. We love the L-39. It is a serious bit of kit. Regards, Jeff
