Regarding your request for member input on their aircraft, please find attached a few photo's of my ex-Chilean Air Force "Halcones" display team aircraft, which is a 1989 Extra 300 (Serial No. 010. - VH-EXR).
 
It's the only mid-wing Extra 300 currently on the Australian register.  I purchased the aircraft from the USA in Nov 2006.  It arrived in Australia in January 2007.  It took us until August 2007, working 'on and off', to complete some minor repairs / upgrades and general tidying-up work.  Steve Dines ran into a problem with CASA (affecting several warbird aircraft) which prevented the issuing of a Limited category C of A until 28 Nov 2007.  Therefore,  VH-EXR finally made its first flight in Australia from Bankstown on 29 Nov 2007.
 
In it's previous life it flew the No.2 position in the Halcones display team.  From 1989 to 2005 the Halcones used the Extra 300 mid wing.  They went to exhibitions / displays all over South America and attended many international events including Farnbough in the UK. Beautiful aircraft to fly!  Currently it is only available for Private Hire to well qualified and experienced aerobatics pilots that can pass a tough check ride and I feel will respect the aircraft.  As soon as I manage to achieve "semi-retirement" (in the next 12 months I hope!) I'll expand the ops to include 'Adventure flights'
